Thomas M. Wittenschlaeger

Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer

Thomas M. Wittenschlaeger was appointed CEO by the board of directors in December of 2011. Mr. Wittenschlaeger formerly led the Advanced Networks Sciences initiative at NantWorks, LLC in Los Angeles, CA. He served as Chairman and CEO of Raptor Networks Technology for seven years prior to its acquisition by CalCap Equity Partners, LLC and is the inventor of and holder of multiple patents in hybrid fabric networking, communications, and spatially diverse supercomputing. Prior to assuming the role as Raptor’s CEO in 2004, Mr. Wittenschlaeger served for two years as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Chief Technology Officer of Personnel Group of America, Inc., an IT systems and staffing company. Earlier, he held various management and strategic technology leadership positions for 16 years at Hughes Aircraft Company where he was involved in the development of advanced technology products and systems ranging from torpedoes to air traffic control systems. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the United States Naval Academy and achieved engineer certification on pressurized water reactors. He served in attack submarines in the Pacific theatre and is a veteran of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Steven K. Passey

Chief Financial Officer

Steven K. Passey, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Passey has over 20 years experience in operations and finance and has been involved in raising over $2 billion in equity, debt and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Passey has served as the Chief Financial Officer of KeyOn Communications since October 2011. Mr. Passey served as Secretary and Chief Financial Officer for TechniScan, Inc., a start-up company in connection with the development and commercialization of innovative medical imaging products for the detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, from November 2009 to October 2011. Mr. Passey served as Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer for Mrs. Fields Famous Brands from 2007 to 2009. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Passey served as Director of SEC Compliance, Controller of REIT Properties for Extra Space Storage, a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust company formed to own, operate, manage, acquire, develop and redevelop professionally managed self-storage facilities. Mr. Passey served as a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young in 1999 and from 2001 to 2004 and as Chief Financial Officer for SwitchPoint Networks, a broadband and communication technology company, from 2000 to 2001. Mr. Passey also served as Chief Financial Officer at RealTrust Asset Corporation, a specialty finance company from 1997 to 1998 and as a Manager at KPMG from 1989 to 1997.

Alfredo Echeverria

GM – Rural Broadband Operations

19 yrs of experience in the wireless industry. Has managed the build-out of over 3000 sites over his career. Prior to joining Keyon, Mr. Echeverria held several senior level positions, most recently as Vice President of Network Deployment at DigitalBridge Communications. Before joining DigitalBridge, he held positions as Director of Network Deployment at ICO Global, Senior Director of Network Deployment for XM Satellite Radio and Vice President of Network Deployment for LCC International where he managed a staff of 117 people and a budget of over $120M. Mr. Echeverria holds a BA from the University of Maryland.

Paul Mona

GM – VoIP Operations

Paul Mona has more than fifteen years of experience in the voice over IP space and currently serves as Vice President of Engineering for Keyon Communications.  Prior to joining Keyon, Mr. Mona served as VP Engineering for CommPartners Connect from 2003 to 2001. He was responsible for network design, equipment selection, application development, and support of the CommPartners Connect network. Mr. Mona joined CommPartners Connect in 2003 as its first employee.

Prior to joining CommPartners Connect, Mr. Mona was head of Engineering at MPower Communications (acquired by TelePacific) and spear-headed the design, development, and deployment of one of the first revenue producing VoIP networks in the nation. Mr. Mona also held an engineering position with Tollbridge Technologies, a leading developer of high-quality, voice-over broadband solutions.  Mr. Mona holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technologies from University of Phoenix.
